I stand behind my work 100%. If there are any adjustments to your service that you would like to make, I honor them within 7 days from the date of your appointment with no additional fees.
Your appointments are very important to me, they are reserved especially for you. I understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, I respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations to avoid being charged 100% of your scheduled services. Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, I miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on my waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. All appointments are confirmed 72 hours in advance and then 24 hours in advance through text and email because I know how easy it is to forget an appointment you booked months ago.
Yes! Even though the lightener I use is NOT bleach and contains ZERO ammonia, I can achieve lightening results that can completely remove all pigment to any shade of blonde you desire. I will always take into consideration that health of your hair, so even like other traditional brands, we may require a few sessions to safely lighten your hair to platinum. My #1 priority is always the integrity of your hair.
No way! Our hair color is 100% ammonia free and full of organic ingredients to keep your hair and body safe. The professional salon industry is generally under the impression that ammonia is safe. However, this caustic toxin which is most commonly used in commercial cleaning products and to manufacturer explosives, is actually considered to cause cancer by the World Health Organization and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In addition to being a carcinogen, there is strong evidence that ammonia also causes a slew of additional health problems.
YES! The color lines I use will consistently and reliably produce brighter, more durable, and fabulous results for all color spectrums. This is especially true for grey coverage that simply will not fade. The key difference with our color systems are that not only is the base of the color (the main ingredient) alkaline, so it raises the pH of the hair, but it is also a conditioning agent so it softens the cuticle(what makes hair appear frizzy) at the same time. This softening process means that the color is able to work at a far lower pH and is a far gentler way to color the hair than ammonia-based colors. Unlike ammonia which operates at a high pH and swells the cuticle literally forcing the pigments into the hair, our color line moisturizes the hair which softens the cuticle, allowing it to open at a lower pH and enabling the color to wind itself through the layers of cuticle.
No! Some people have assumed that because we use products only with the purest, most organic ingredients that it must mean that our services are more costly. This is 100% not true. The health and wellness of our guests is more important than our bottom line. You, our client, are our bottom line. I believe in giving our guests top of the line services and in order for me to lay our heads down at night, it has to be fairly priced too.
Detox Salon offers safe alternatives to the typical salon experience. While other salons are a breeding ground for health concerns due to harsh toxins, I only use all natural products on our guests and do not allow such toxins to be present in our facility.
Simply stated, the ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation. Animals that produce meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products do not take antibiotics or growth hormones. The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) defines organic as follows: Organic food is produced by farmers who emphasize the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality for future generations. Organic meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products come from animals that are given no antibiotics or growth hormones. Organic food is produced without using most conventional pesticides; fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation. Before a product can be labeled "organic," a Government-approved certifier inspects the farm where the food is grown to make sure the farmer is following all the rules necessary to meet USDA organic standards. Companies that handle or process organic food before it gets to your local supermarket or restaurant must be certified, too. The USDA has identified for three categories of labeling organic products: 100% Organic: Made with 100% organic ingredients Organic: Made with at least 95% organic ingredients Made With Organic Ingredients: Made with a minimum of 70% organic ingredients with strict restrictions on the remaining 30% including no GMOs (genetically modified organisms) Products with less than 70% organic ingredients may list organically produced ingredients on the side panel of the package, but may not make any organic claims on the front of the package. While our choice of products are made of the highest possible percentage of organic ingredients, not all of our products are USDA certified.
During this special time in a woman’s life, she wants to look as beautiful as she feels; so it is often asked whether hair color is safe for pregnant clients. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), hair dyes with safer ingredients are safe to use during pregnancy because so little dye is absorbed through the skin. It is important during this delicate time to know exactly what is being put on, or in the body. By consulting with a physician, taking all recommended precautions, and by using organic hair color, pregnant clients won’t sacrifice their health, beauty, or the well-being of the precious life growing inside of them.
Parabens are used to prevent the growth of microbes in cosmetics products and can be absorbed through skin, blood and the digestive system. The greatest concern is that parabens are known to disrupt hormone function, an effect that is linked to increased risk of breast cancer and reproductive toxicity. Parabens mimic estrogen by binding to estrogen receptors on cells. They also increase the expression of genes usually regulated by estradiol (a natural form of estrogen); these genes cause human breast cancer cells to grow and multiply in cellular studies. Parabens are also linked to cancer, reproductive toxicity, immunotoxicity, neurotoxicity and skin irritation. Since parabens are used to kill bacteria in water-based solutions, they inherently have some toxicity to cells. No! Our products contain certified organic foaming agents only. Parabens are not ever present in the salon.
